if u like to draw portraits i say start with that. i have several portraits i have drawn and what i started with is the lines of the face. practice noses and eyes i find them to be the hardest. if u like to do portraits u might also like to draw hands and feet. i like those they are challenging.

I am 25 and everyday I feel like a new crappy thing has happened. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree and then moved to go to school and get my Master's degree. I completed all my coursework and internships, but I felt so overwhelmed and had extreme anxiety about my thesis so I never finished it. I've been avoiding going back to it and feel like I wasted a lot of money, time, and effort on grad school to not even have my degree. I've been unemployed since I graduated and no place will hire me because places that I am qualified for I don't have the Master's degree so they will not hire me and places like Walmart and McDonalds won't hire me either. I've applied to seriously like 200 jobs and I've only had 4 interviews. I took a job class to figure out to make myself more marketable, but I just feel defeated and stuck. My boyfriend lives with me and he pays the rent for us while we are supposed to split the bills. I never have money to split the bills though, so every month is a struggle. My dad passed away 7yrs ago and my mom is not in a financial place to help me either. My car that I bought when I was a teenager recently broke down and was going to cost $2k to fix, so I sold it as is to a guy for $300. Now I have no car, no job, I have creditors calling me all the time and I just feel so awful all the time. I know in terms of other peoples' lives, mine is far from bad, but I seriously cannot stand being in this position anymore and I can't figure out how to get out. It's like a bad circle because I don't have the energy to deal with my life and so it keeps getting worse. I am so thankful for my family and my boyfriend because without them I would definitely be homeless. How can I make myself feel better and get out of this??

My life is in shambles right now. What do I do?

I'm not here to moan about little trivial problems. Until I was 16, I was under the assumption that I was born in San Antonio, Texas. It was only when I asked my father that I wanted to get a driver's license did he decide to tell me that we were illegal immigrants and therefore, I couldn't apply for not only a driver's license, but for a job as well. Since then, my life has not been too good. I don't have a job because I don't have a social security number, I can't drive, I don't go to college because I couldn't get that many scholarships and no financial aid to pay for it and of course, I don't have a job. I have to live at home with my other family members and I feel that at 19, my life is totally off track and I'm not where I wanted to be at this point. I've looked into ways of getting a permanent residency to at least solve the source of my troubles but it's something that I can't do since I'm not eligible for one. I've been depressed because of this and considered taking my life on more than a few occasions. Is there anything in my power that I can do to better my life? I feel as if all of these problems are just too big for me alone and I can't seem to find anyone that can offer some guidance or help. What can I do?

How do I get my band to appreciate me?

I'm the bassist in a band. I feel unappreciated by the guitarist and particularly the drummer. I'll start with the guitarist. He, at least, understands the importance of my role in the band. But he obviously thinks his instrument is far superior to mine. I remember once we were talking about how Jimmy Page first played bass in his band but then got put on guitar. He described it as Jimmy Page getting a huge promotion. Another time we were talking about how Paul McCartney first played trumpet and then guitar and then bass. The guitarist said that he got a promotion and then a demotion. I'm not saying he's not entitled to think his instrument is better - I think bass is better than any other instrument - but I wish he wouldn't constantly talk about like it's a fact. Now for the drummer. He obviously see's no point in me being in the band, which is really bad because we need to work together being the rhythm section, but I don't see how we can when he doesn't see the point in bass. He's said before that he hates bass and that he doesn't think it's neccessary. I don't know what to say to him. I just feel really underappreciated. ANy suggestions to what I should do? And I don't want people saying 'leave the band' unless they think that's the only thing to do, because the guitarist and drummer are really nice guys and my best friends.

Did you say your 'new' graphics card is a X1650? Its an old card. Is it AGP or PCI-E? If its AGP it cant be used in either of the systems. If its PCI-E you might as well get either system and upgrade the graphics card anyway. The ATI 4670 is a good cheap option or the 4850 if you have a bit more money.

My stepson is dead and everyone is blaming me for his death and hates me?

3 months ago, my stepson was killed in a head on collision. He was 29 and I’ve been in his life since he was 3, but for the past 14 years, we haven’t really spoken. When I first met my husband he had been divorced 2 years and had his son on weekends. He was unlike any other guy I had ever known and I immediately fell in love with him, but not his son. I was only 24 and had no children myself so I didn’t have a lot of patience for him so generally, weekends sucked for me. I married him father when he was 7. I’m very ashamed to admit this but I felt as though my husband would have been perfect if he didn’t have a child. I didn’t like “sharing” him with his son so in the first few years, I wasn’t exactly the kindest stepmother. I wasn’t completely terrible, but he knew not to depend on me for anything. We did not get along at all. He knew that I was happy when he wasn’t around and enjoyed giving me hell when he was. My husband always tried to break up our fights but in reality, he didn’t do much to prevent another. It wasn’t until I had a child of my own did I see the error of my ways. When I had my first daughter, I tried to be a better step mom but it was too late. He was 14 and I guess tired of putting up with me. Hatred doesn’t quite describe how he felt about me. We did nothing but argue for a year until he turned 15, then he just stopped talking to me. I mean literally he stopped. Imagine getting the silent treatment for 3 years, trust me it’ll drive anyone crazy. That was the point of no return. Me and my husband tried reaching out but he continued to ignore us on his visits. The last thing he said to me before college was “I never will think about you again. Have a nice life.” He cut all communication with us for 6 years. My husband was pretty devastated. He still talked to other family members and our children when he could but acted as though we didn’t exist at family functions. No calls, no cards, nothing. We weren’t invited to his wedding, we never got to see his children face-to-face, graduation totally excluded. So 3 months ago, I was out with a girlfriend who took me to a business/birthday party for someone at her job. His wife works for the company so they were both there as well. She had to leave early so he was alone and I decided to go over and talk to him. When he saw me coming, he headed for the exit. I thought I’ve been walked away from and ignored for the last time and I chased after him. We got into a heated argument outside and he told me that he’s always hated me and to leave him alone. I was hurt so I told him to go to hell and he said “I’ll see you there” got into his car and sped off. 6 blocks later, he collided with another driver who was drunk and died. Me and my husband were not allowed to attend the funeral. We showed up anyway but there was a huge fight and we were escorted out. We drove to the gravesite, but another fight broke out. My husband won’t even look at me. My children won’t talk to me and everyone on his side and the mother’s are saying its my fault he’s dead. His wife came over the other day to get some old things of his and she gave me no eye contact. Advice for semi-adult out of control brother?

My brother is 20, but since he graduated high school, he has been completely and totally disrespectful towards my parents, especially my mom. He's gone from job to job, keeping them for no more than 3 months, deciding he hates it there or just doesn't feel like going to work. He attempted school at the local community college, but either failed out or skipped class altogether. My mom supplies him with spending money, gas money, and a car whenever he wants to go out. His life is in shambles and he doesn't realize it, or doesn't care. He OD'ed two years ago on vicodin and energy drinks, but got his stomach pumped at the hospital. He smokes, dabbles in drugs, and drinks. He has been dealing with the fact that he's gay for over two years now. He sleeps all day, then wakes up, asks for money or cries and throws fits until he gets it, stays out all night, drains the car of any and all gas my mom put in the day before, and returns anywhere from 5 am-10 am and does it all over again. He's currently being sued from an ex friend of his for a minor accident they were in a few years back for pain and suffering, and he's refusing to take care of it, placing the burden on my parents. He's constantly in a bad mood, swears at my mom when she simply wants to talk to him. He's supposed to be in therapy, but his therapist knows he lies about how he really is, and he refuses to take his medicine. Whenever my sister or I try to talk to him, he lashes out. He got so angry at me once, he kicked me in the stomach. When I try to talk to my dad about it, he says he'll talk to my mom about it, but she yells and screams at him, then comes to find me and tells me to keep my nose in my own business. My thoughts are that she takes this abuse because he's a) the youngest and therefore "the baby", and b) she's scared she'll lose him for good. I know he has anger issues, and he has been diagnosed as bi-polar. He really needs a wake up call. What do we do?

Me and my boyfriend always butt heads when dealing with our problems, I for one like to talk and sort things out right away while my boyfriend likes to distance himself from me. I often get very stubborn when he tries to walk away and isn't willing to talk things out to the fullest even if that would really help. Despite the fights and arguments we get into every so often, we both know that we love each other very much. We make sacrifices for each other and try very hard to make the relationship work. However, he has fixed his anger problems for the most part and I'm still having a very hard time trying to get over my insecurities. My insecurities of being alone, of being not good enough and just having terrible anxiety. My anxiety has been off the charts within the last month and it's put the relationship in great jeopardy. Last night we were spending time in my room and it got me thinking that I was boring and not a "fun" girlfriend, even though he sat there trying to tell me differently. My anxiety completely took over and I couldn't stop, resulting in being over emotional and saying/doing things I never would want to do. He couldn't handle listening to me being that upset and left early this morning and I made the mistake of bawling my eyes out and being a wreck in front of him. When he got home he messaged me saying that he can't do this anymore and needs his space. I'm completely and utterly broken. Tomorrow I am finding a therapist to furthermore improve myself. I just would do absolutely anything for this guy and I wish he believed me that I'm going to try this time, even though I ****** up and didn't exactly fix myself after all of the other fights. I am head over heels in love and I don't want to let this go. Please help me. Please. :(.

About 95% of the time they go to Auckland(in the North Island) and the South Island(where I am) gets maybe 5% of bands that come. Anyone else experience massive difficulty with google places. There's no contact numbers or email help. You ask questions on the google help forum with no replys. My stepson is dead and everyone is blaming me for his death and hates me?

3 months ago, my stepson was killed in a head on collision. He was 29 and I’ve been in his life since he was 3, but for the past 14 years, we haven’t really spoken. When I first met my husband he had been divorced 2 years and had his son on weekends. He was unlike any other guy I had ever known and I immediately fell in love with him, but not his son. I was only 24 and had no children myself so I didn’t have a lot of patience for him so generally, weekends sucked for me. I married him father when he was 7. I’m very ashamed to admit this but I felt as though my husband would have been perfect if he didn’t have a child. I didn’t like “sharing” him with his son so in the first few years, I wasn’t exactly the kindest stepmother. I wasn’t completely terrible, but he knew not to depend on me for anything. We did not get along at all. He knew that I was happy when he wasn’t around and enjoyed giving me hell when he was. My husband always tried to break up our fights but in reality, he didn’t do much to prevent another. It wasn’t until I had a child of my own did I see the error of my ways. When I had my first daughter, I tried to be a better step mom but it was too late. He was 14 and I guess tired of putting up with me. Hatred doesn’t quite describe how he felt about me. We did nothing but argue for a year until he turned 15, then he just stopped talking to me. I mean literally he stopped. Imagine getting the silent treatment for 3 years, trust me it’ll drive anyone crazy. That was the point of no return. Me and my husband tried reaching out but he continued to ignore us on his visits. The last thing he said to me before college was “I never will think about you again. Have a nice life.” He cut all communication with us for 6 years. My husband was pretty devastated. He still talked to other family members and our children when he could but acted as though we didn’t exist at family functions. No calls, no cards, nothing. We weren’t invited to his wedding, we never got to see his children face-to-face, graduation totally excluded. So 3 months ago, I was out with a girlfriend who took me to a business/birthday party for someone at her job. His wife works for the company so they were both there as well. She had to leave early so he was alone and I decided to go over and talk to him. When he saw me coming, he headed for the exit. I thought I’ve been walked away from and ignored for the last time and I chased after him. We got into a heated argument outside and he told me that he’s always hated me and to leave him alone. I was hurt so I told him to go to hell and he said “I’ll see you there” got into his car and sped off. 6 blocks later, he collided with another driver who was drunk and died. Me and my husband were not allowed to attend the funeral. We showed up anyway but there was a huge fight and we were escorted out. We drove to the gravesite, but another fight broke out. My husband won’t even look at me. My children won’t talk to me and everyone on his side and the mother’s are saying its my fault he’s dead. His wife came over the other day to get some old things of his and she gave me no eye contact. I told her my husband would love to see the children, but she said “I don’t think Nik would like that.” My life is in shambles. I know I brought some of this on myself, but I have literally groveled for forgiveness but he didn’t want to forgive me. I think my husband hates me. I’m so stressed out and depressed and I don’t know what to do. Will it ever get better for me?

I would be thinking more Scottish. Being an Irish (Gaelic) speaker I can't think of a similar non Anglicised version, therefore my reason for thinking it's Scottish. On the other hand a lot of Scots Gaelic originated in Ireland a long long time ago, though it has evolved a lot over the years.

I'd agree that Paul is the most musically talented of the four. He studied music more academically than the others, and I think he has a natural gift to make a simple song that's fun to listen to. I don't think he was quite as philosophical or witty with lyrics as John was, but he was no slouch either. In the studio he could communicate in musical terms with George Martin on how he wanted things to sound, and he can play any instrument put in his hands. My ex and I had been over for 5 months already. It was a very painful break-up. We been together for a year and a half. We were inseparable...problem was were I was scared to give my heart away due to a very bad relationship I had in the past that did some emotional damage on me. �Not only that, my home life was in shambles. Vice versa on her part, she was also scared. The biggest con was distance. We were far apart and we couldn't be around each other like we wanted to. We were busy most of the time, but still contacted each other. Seizures and Epiliepsy are the SAME thing. But the things you describe does not sound like a seizure. Not Grand Mull Seizure, ( doing the funky chicken on the ground) nor a Mild / Petit Seizure ( just a pause,eyes roll in back of head,and a little shaking). My son has had Mild Seizures since Birth, since he has hit the age of 12, he Now has Grand Mulll Seizures.He is now 15. But with the right medicine for the Epilepsy/Seizures, it CAN be controlled. Grand Mull Seizures, basically, all your muscles and body stiffen up, ( stiff as a board), u will drop to the floor, if anything is in the way when you fall down.. YOU will get hurt.there is uncontrolably shaking going on with all parts of the body, and eyes are rolled back into the head. Lips turn blue, unconcious,and Stiff and foamy from the mouth.. But when you come out of it, ur confused, tired, and will usually NOT remember having one. NOW for what can bring it on.... Pretty much anything, it can bright lighting, flashing of lights, lack of sleep, getting over heated, poor diet, caffeine( coffee, energy drinks) you CAN drink pop but not to over do it. there could be more ways to have one as well, but those are the things that will make my son have one. How to treat yourself after you have had a seizure,,, ALOT of SLEEP, your very tired after words, and confused. Once your body has rested, could be a few hours of sleep. you will feel better.. IT is a MYTH about swallowing your toungue, U CANT. but if you or someone is having a GRANDMULL SEIZURE, you should not be restrained from shaking around but move items that may hurt the person having one, and turn the person to his or her side just so they dont throw up or swallow all the foam and choke. My Son has been on all kinds of meds, to try to control his seizures, best meds that have improved him NOT having a seizure is Valproic Acid, and Keppra.. Talk with your Dr. they will know what medication will work best for you. I have been to the CHILDRENS HOSPITAL IN CALGARY ALBERTA, and the Specialists there have said that the VALPROIC ACID is the number one Med to take for Epilepsy/Seizures. Hope this helps you. Is BT Customer Service any better than Virginmedia?

VM Customer Service has to be the worst I've ever experienced. Their rude Indian Call-Centre operatives with fake American names seem to think it's acceptable to get rude with you and leave you on hold for an hour at time, consantly passing you around because everybody's so clueless they don't know what they're doing. I'm thinking of moving to BT given that Cable is no longer cheap, and charges the most expensive rates for calls and line rental (they want over 10p a min for 0845 numbers, cheek!) at least BT seem to charge sensible rates. But are their customer service ops any good? I'm needing to find a good company that has organised Customer Service, not like VM who tell you three different stories then transfer you. A shambles of a company. Thanks for any replies :D

Why is America so quick to help out other countries and not our own?

every time there is a disaster in other countries America is always the first to respond and fork over 100's of millions of dollars to help. What would you do about an overbearing co-worker?

I have a co-worker (a.k.a. Supervisor) that has worked at the company less time than me. I have been at the company 10 years and she has been there 5. She is in about her 50's and I am in my 30's. I work in a division of the business that is a pivotal point of all the business handled at our location. I am (more simply put) a one person department. Because I handle my own affairs and produce my fair share of business in a day, take care of my own files, have my own schedule and contacts, I think this coworker is jealous. Regardless, she began pulling rank on me not to long ago and stating that her position within the company was 3rd in the chain of command and my position is 4th in the chain of command. So now she has taken away my ability to make my own schedule as to what proceeds what within the work day...I still arrive and leave at the same time each day. She has screwed up my daily routine so badly that now I get in trouble if I do not do something in the order she prescribes. I don't understand her need to micromanage me and like I said I think its jealousy that I am a one person department. But my point is I was doing fine, keeping up with the work flow, producing what I needed to in terms of daily work sent out and I have a good rapport with the accounts and clientele. Now my ability to speak to clients freely is hampered. I don't have the same opportunity as I did before which was if a question needed to be asked all I had to do was pick up the phone and call the client...now I have to go through this "supervisor" she then determines if a call is necessary and if so....she personally makes the call for me and brings me the details. I feel like I am being babysat. I took my complaint to management and all management did was "talk" to her. Now she has come down harder on me...because obviously she knows I spoke to management. I don't like how she treats me and talks down to me as if I am some pion in the company. I know what I am doing and I do my job well. If she wants my position so badly then why doesn't she apply for it like I had to do? God knows my department could use another person. Any suggestions as what to do about this woman? I am sick of having to even ask permission before leaving for a break or using the toilet. I'm not in elementary school anymore and this is getting ridiculous.

im in the middle of doing exams in school, i have noticed recently that i feel like **** and i dont know what it is that is causing this. i started gettin eczema for the first time in my life a few months ago and keep wprrying that it is going to get worse. last week i started getting a fungal infection in my groin which made matters worse. i keep worrying about using steroid creams, i have tried using natural remedies, they dont work for me.also i found it difficult to sleep last nyt, then i had an exam today, im normally a happy person but i feel like my life is in shambles and everything is on top of me! i feel like i hate myself. does any1 know wats rong with me at all?

So I am going to try to keep this short and I know I am gonna get so much crap and so yeah but basically last January I reconnected with a guy I liked a lot after like a year of not talking (he basically blew me off) anyways we talked and I was 19 and a virgin which was terrible so I wanted to have sex with someone and he told me I should do it with him and I was like.. ok. Car restoration costs?

Im 17 and I'm looking at trying to restore my dads 81 corvette for a first car, the laundry list of problems are the interior is COMPLETLEY in shambles seats are completley gone, crac in dashboard the center console has the sides falling off, the carpet on the doors and everywhere almost turns to dust, moving under the hood there is light smoke that comes up when its idling (I have seen other classics do thin if anyone has a clue let me know), there are hair line and spider cracks in the fiberglass the front air dam is split completley in the middle and is held up by twine, one light will not come up and two of the bulbs dont work (one on each) a tail light is out, and last but not least the front tires loose pressure.....I have been working on this car my whole life on the outside its an old vette with all the problems but underneath its got guts of a new vette ever since I can remember I have been working on it I cant think of ONE person who respects a car more... so anybody have an idea of costs, if u give me your email i can send pictures

What a start to my first mothers day?

Ok, there's this girl who goes to my school, quite fit, nice personality, all that. I get in my first ever relationship in my whole life with her for 6 months, after that she breaks it off, long story short I was heartbroken. Then she goes out with another guy straight after, and another one, none which lasted as long as me though. During that time we became quite good friends again, healed old wounds etc. But after her last break-up I felt quite appaled, because the guy she broke it with is actually a good mate of mine. It's not like he was acting like a jerk, he just didn't know how to deal with a relationship, so all he wanted to do was keep his distance, which is fair enough, because I know as a girlfriend she demands a lot of attention, fairly high maintenance. She was just bitching and bitching to me about him, and she was bitching to her mates on facebook too. I could see justification in both sides, but all the time I felt I was being used as some sort of pion, she wanted me to talk to him about being a better boyfriend, he wanted me to talk to her about being a less demanding girlfriend. To be honest, I just wanted out. But now I think she's trying to ignite old fires, she always wants me to be on her side. I think of the beautiful relationship we had together, as first relationships go that one was actually pretty awesome. But I also think of the girl she has become, not the sweet, modest one who I could relate to. Now she is expecting hugs and support out of me, and we're gonna see a movie with a mate at the weekend. I'm fearing a lot that she'll make her move again. I maybe acting irrationally but she is that sort of person. I don't know whether to trust my forgiving and tolerant side or my sensible side.
