Me and my friend were by a lake in the woods at 3am and we saw a demon, i want to know what it is.?

we were at the lakeside, and we saw a humanoid figuire standing in the lake, we saw it had glowing white eyes, long dirty wet hair and it had disgusting skin, it walked with a hunch, kind of shambling movement, we all ran and it chased us. we looked behind us every second and it was running after us in a hunched kind of lurchy fashion, as if it was akward on land. we got out of the marsh and got to the road and we turned around to look, and it was on the edge of the road looking at us with its glowing white eyes, and it turned around to go through the woods and to the marshes. im thinking its a drowned dead or drowner, vodyanoi in slavic mythology i think. can anyone confirm?
