Beatles, McCartney, Lynard Skynard, Nirvana?

My favorites are most beatles songs especially "something" and "come together", paul mccartney's "maybe im amazed." I also like most of nirvana and lynard skynard. The problem is all of this music is before my time and I know what i like when i heard it but until then, I dont know its out there. Im trying to put a cd together. What other songs are along these same lines?
