Does God really answer prayers?

I recently got a job i really wanted. Im pretty non-religous but have been in a bad place in my life and everything always went wrong for me no matter what it was. But lately i have been praying and found a really good job (hard to do with the economy in shambles). I want to believe its divine intervention and not just random coincidence. But im pretty skeptical i guess.
